By Air

The three major airports that service the Savoie Area; Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon, are all, give or take, 3 hours drive from Val d’Isere and Tignes. Chambery is only 2.5 hours drive but does regularly suffer from poor weather and low clouds and flights are often diverted.

The regional bus company runs buses from all the main airports; Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery. Their website is in French and English. They run through and from Bourg St. Mauice to both Tignes and Val d’Isere 7 days a week throughout the season.

Directions to Val d’Isere and Tignes by Car

All routes must go through Albertville and then on the N90 to Moutiers and then Bourg St Maurice. From Bourg St Maurice take the D902 to Val d'Isère, Post Code; 73150. Be wary of following Sat Nav directions as they will direct you to closed summer roads, do not go via Chamonix and the Mont Blanc tunnel.
